Golden State Draft Horse & Mule Club
Welcome to the Golden State Draft Horse and Mule Club which proudly includes members from all over Northern California and Western Nevada. This page is available to club members as a tool to share information about meetings, activities and events as well as horses or equipment that are for sale.

PAST EVENTS
May 30th: Club Wagon Train from Westwood, CA to Silver City, ID. Yes, that's right - you read it correctly! The Golden State Draft Horse & Mule club went on a 3 week wagon train and although not everyone was able to participate for the entire 3 weeks, there was a wonderful contingency of horses and wagons along the entire trip. We left from Duck Lake in Westwood on Monday, May 31st and headed for Susanville, CA. We arrived in Susanville on Tuesday afternoon and were surprised (not to mentioned pleased) to have such a large number of people waiting to watch us pass through. The local historical group had graciously been advertising on the radio and we had spectators from the moment we entered Susanville and it continued several miles outside of Susanville. Wednesday morning we headed out of the Lassen County Fairgrounds and headed towards the Noble Trail.

June 12th - 13th: Patrick Ranch was another success and we had a good showing of horses at the event considering there were several wagons still on the wagon train. Thank you to the Patrick Ranch for again inviting us to join your event.

Belgian Gelding - One of the club members has a 9 year old Belgian gelding for sale that both rides and drives. This horse has been to one of the club meetings and has proven to be a very nice driving horse, but we've also been told that he rides even better than he drives. He stands at approx. 17hh, weighs approx. 1,800 lbs. and is sorrel in color with a dirty blonde mane and tail and four off-white socks. The only reason for this sale is that the horse was given to them and he doesn't match any of their current stock. If interested, email SchillDrafts@hotmail.com for further details and pictures.
SOLD - Suffolk Gelding: One of the club members has a 6 year old Suffolk gelding for sale that has been driven, but needs a little more experienced driver who can provide him with regular activity. Lots of details and information on this horse so if you are interested in the rare breed of the Suffolk, please email us and we will forward you the owners contact information.
NOTE: There are almost always horses in the area for sale of all different ages and stages of experience. If you are searching for a new draft, email us with what you are looking for and we will see what we can do to help. Be sure to include if you have an requests for any certain age, breed, driving level, etc. In addition, if the Book Family Farm has horses for sale they will be found on the Draft Horses page.
